ASEAN summit starts without Biden

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit began without the participation of US President Joe Biden after a half-hour wait.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on her Telegram channel that the East Asia summit in Cambodia began without US President Joe Biden, who had been waiting for him for half an hour.

“The EAC summit began in Cambodia (not to be confused with Colombia) without Biden. We waited 30 minutes and Biden didn’t come,” Zakharova wrote.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden mistakenly thanked the “Colombian” and not the Cambodian leadership for organizing the ASEAN summit.

The East Asia Summit is a platform for dialogue between the leaders of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region on political issues, development and promotion of practical cooperation between countries.
