Armenia accused of setting up unauthorized checkpoint on Azerbaijan’s border

Today, Sunday, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry stated that the Armenian authorities unilaterally set up a checkpoint on the border between the two countries.

According to the Azerbaijani ministry, the video surveillance cameras of the Azerbaijani army recorded the passage of an Armenian convoy of cars and trucks, including a truck crane and two trucks with residential buildings, in the Lachin region the night before.

The ministry added: “The video shows that the convoy was coming from the settlement of Korneidzor (Armenia) and crossed the newly built bridge over the Khakari River on the conditional Azerbaijani-Armenian border and entered the territory of Azerbaijan.”

The ministry noted that the cars returned to the parking lot in Armenia, and two housing units were unloaded using a truck crane to a pre-prepared place on the border with Azerbaijan, at the intersection of the Lachin-Khankendi road. .

In its statement, the ministry continued: “Our observation confirmed that the Armenian side, without prior agreement and in violation of the tripartite statement of November 10 (9), established a border checkpoint on the border with Azerbaijan at the entrance to the Lachin-Khankendi road. ) 2020″.
