Apple’s Last Store with the Original 2001 Entrance will Close Tomorrow For Renovation Work

According to Michael Steeber, who publishes a weekly email concerning Apple’s retail outlets, Apple Tice’s Corner in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, will be temporarily closed for repairs beginning on Tuesday, January 31. There has yet to be a date for the reopening.

Apple's Last Store with the Original 2001 Entrance will Close Tomorrow For Renovation Work

The closing is noteworthy given that Apple Tice’s Corner is the sole extant retail location with the company’s original 2001 façade design—a black exterior with two backlit Apple logos flanking the entrance. It is unknown if the facade will be altered because Steeber stated that the impending improvements need to be clarified.

In November 2001, only a few months after Apple’s original brick-and-mortar stores in Tysons, Virginia, and Glendale, California, opened for business, Apple Tice’s Corner was created. The latter two stores’ façade had already been modified during previous renovations.

Apple already has over 520 retail locations worldwide and will soon establish its first shops in Malaysia and India.
