Annual inflation in Russia slowed down to 15.62%

Inflation in Russia slowed from July 2 to July 8 to 15.62% year on year from 16.19% last week, according to the review “On the current price situation” prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development.

The document states that “for the week from July 2 to July 8, 2022, prices decreased by 0.03%. According to annual indicators, price growth slowed down to 15.62%.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development, the main contribution to the decline in prices continues to be made by a decrease in food prices (-0.37% at the end of the week) due to an increase in the number of fruits and vegetables, as well as a slowdown in the growth of other food products. In addition, the Ministry of Economic Development recorded a continuation of the downward trend in prices for non-food products (-0.08%). At the same time, in the field of organized and tourist services, prices increased by 0.67%.

Earlier, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov said that inflation in Russia at the end of the year would be below the expected 17.5%.
