Ankara: Turkey is not at enmity with Armenia

Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said that Turkey has no enmity with Armenia and that Ankara has begun the process of normalizing relations.

“Turkey had an eternal enmity with Armenia? No, we started the process of normalization,” Kalin said in an interview with Haberturk TV channel.

There are no diplomatic relations between Turkey and Armenia, and the border between the two countries has been closed since 1993 at the initiative of Ankara.

Difficult relations between the two countries are the result of a number of circumstances, including Ankara’s support for the Azerbaijani position on the Karabakh issue.
