Anas Jaber rises to historic position in the world rankings

Tunisian star Anas Jaber climbed to third place in the world tennis rankings for the first time in her career after winning the Berlin Championships.

Anas Jaber crowned the Berlin champion at the expense of her Swiss opponent Belinda Bencic, who had to withdraw from the match between them yesterday, Sunday, in the second group due to injury.

The Tunisian star has won her third title in her professional career, following her first at the English tournament in Birmingham last year and her second at the Madrid tournament.

Anas Haber, 27, moved up one position in the world rankings released on Monday from fourth to third with a score of 4340, replacing Spain’s Paula Badusa.

While Poland’s Iga Šviontik retained the lead with 8,631 points, Estonia’s Anett Kontaveit followed in second place with 4,511 points.
