Anas from Tunisia advanced to the quarter-finals of Wimbledon

Tunisian star Anas Jaber, world No. 2, reached the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, the third Grand Slam tournament, defeating Belgian No. 31 Alice Mertens.

And Anas needed one hour and 48 minutes to overcome the Belgian’s obstacle, beating her in two sets without an answer, 7-6, 6-4.

The Tunisian star made it into the quarter-finals against World No. 66 Marie Bozhkova of the Czech Republic, who qualified at the expense of France’s Caroline Garcia (7-5, 6-2).

This will be an opportunity for Anas to achieve her best ever Grand Slam record by defeating Bozkova to advance to the Wimbledon semi-finals.

Anas, who recently won the Berlin grass title, reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon last year, her best result in four Grand Slams, and also reached the same round at the 2020 Australian Open.
