American officer: supplies Ukraine with air defense systems "Patriot" Huge mistake

US Army officer Jeff Lammer wrote in an article for Military magazine that Washington is making a costly mistake by supplying Ukraine with Patriot air defense systems.

In his opinion, Ukraine is not ready to use such “complex and high-tech” military equipment, the study of which takes several months. He also noted that the supply of Patriot air defense systems “will not change Ukraine’s position on the inherent vulnerability of the air.”

La Mer concluded: “The discrepancy is too great. Washington’s insistence, despite this fact, is misguided and will have to pay dearly for it.”

Earlier, the Pentagon announced that it would begin training Ukrainian forces in the use of Patriot systems at a military base in Oklahoma.

The Americans expect Ukrainian forces to be equipped to use and maintain Patriot systems within a few months, and the first battery was included in the latest aid package to Kyiv.

For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stressed that Russia never refused to negotiate with Ukraine, but the Kyiv authorities prevented this.

According to the president, Moscow does not seek to make the wheel of the Ukrainian conflict continue, but seeks to stop it, and at the same time, Western countries are increasingly talking about the need to continue hostilities, pumping Kyiv with weapons and training fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on their territory.
