Al-Aqabawi: Salah angers those who were his former colleague

Mohamed Al-Aqabawi, the former Arab Contractors goalkeeper, has confirmed that a number of colleagues of former Liverpool star Mohamed Salah are angry at him.

Al-Akbawi said on the TV program Al-Mehwar: “Salah does not return calls and messages from his former colleagues. This angers some of them, including Bassem Ali, the former leader of the contractors.”

He continued: “There is no contact with Mohammed Salah, as he was in the first 3 years after his professionalism, and God helped him.”

He indicated that he is not sad that Salah did not communicate with him, because he appreciates his preoccupation with many things and that he has reached a level that no Egyptian player has reached before.

He stressed that “Mohamed Salah tends to encourage Zamalek”, explaining, “That’s something I noticed when I worked with him at Arab Contractors early in his career.”

He noted that Swiss Basel officials followed Salah into the stadium (Arab Contractors) during a meeting in El Gouna in the 2010-2011 Egyptian League season.

He explained that “Salah didn’t care about Zamalek’s suggestion to include it before leaving for Basel because his whole goal was to fulfill his dream of leaving for Europe.”
