France midfielder Paul Pogba has vowed to do everything possible to return next season in better shape after a very difficult year on and off the pitch.
The 2018 World Cup-winning star suffered a hip injury last Sunday in his first competitive match in the Italian league this season.
He left the field, hiding his tears, covering his face with a shirt.
After returning to Juventus from Manchester United last summer, Pogba endured a hell of injuries, first to his right knee last July, which forced him to undergo surgery in September that caused him to miss the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Pogba again suffered a right hip injury in March last year and then gradually returned to the game in mid-April before suffering a recent relapse.
This season, the Frenchman has played 10 matches in a maximum period of 25 minutes.
Off the pitch, Pogba faced a multi-million dollar extortion plot involving his brother Matias.
“It’s been a very, very difficult year with problems on and off the pitch,” Pogba wrote on his Instagram account on Sunday.
He continued: “Off the field, it was very difficult for me. What happened was hard on a psychological level. I tried to resort to what I love, to play football, to escape to the field, but it was impossible because I was physically suffering. from many problems.
And the 30-year-old added: “I have to be patient. Psychologically, I’m much better. I have to keep hope.”
“I will do my best mentally and physically to come back in better shape to help the team win trophies and that is why I came back here. I won’t give up,” he added.
And due to the end of the Italian league season on June 4 and Pogba’s expected absence of 15 to 20 days, he will not be able to play with the old lady’s team again this season.
