After Al-Sisi’s speech, Egypt expects a significant increase in prices for the country’s most important goods

Tharwat El Zeini, deputy head of the Egyptian Poultry Union, confirmed that poultry prices have increased significantly in recent days, with the price per kilogram exceeding £60 today due to higher feed prices.

The vice-president of the Poultry Union said that there will be a rise in prices in the coming days due to black market control and price manipulation, stressing that feed prices represent 90% of the value of poultry.

Al-Zaini pointed out that the decisions taken by the Ministry of Agriculture and the production of feed do not solve the crisis, because the production volumes are very small compared to the volume needed by the market.

The vice-president of the Union of Poultry Breeders confirmed that the Egyptian poultry industry needs about 900,000 tons of feed raw materials per month.

Al-Zaini added that recent releases, especially Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouli’s decision to quickly release the feed, have driven the price per tonne of soybeans from 35,000 pounds to 25,000 pounds within 48 hours, noting that the rate of releases has dropped by 10,000 at once. pounds, but it is still much higher than its real price.

The Vice President of the Poultry Union pointed out that a tonne of corn has fallen from 15,000 pounds to 10,000 pounds, calling for an intensification of the production of feed raw materials so that the livestock breeder feels the stability of the market and continues in new cycles.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke of a significant rise in feed prices over the recent period, and El-Sisi said to the factory owner, “Ahmed, why did you boil the feed?”
