After 24 hours of storm .. Salah arrives in Egypt

Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, a professional in the ranks of the English club Liverpool, arrived in the Egyptian capital Cairo to join the camp of the Pharaohs team, after 24 hours of controversy, “Mo” was his first hero.

Egyptian media reported that Salah arrived at Cairo International Airport on Tuesday evening.

Salah will join Egypt for two friendly matches against Niger on 23 September and Liberia on 27 September.

Salah missed the Pharaohs’ last two matches, which resulted in the sacking of national team coach Ihab Galal after losing 2-0 to Ethiopia in the second round of Group D of the 2023 African Nations qualifier. and against South Korea 1-4 in a friendly.

On July 12, the Portuguese appointed Vitória as head of Egypt’s technical team, and on Sunday, the Portuguese coach announced his first squad of 27 players for two friendly matches against Niger and Liberia, where Salah came to the top of the squad.

Salah’s joining the Egyptian national team comes after 24 tumultuous hours as ‘Mo’ caused a lot of controversy due to a condolence tweet he posted following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

And Salah wrote through his Instagram account yesterday, Monday: “Today the people of Great Britain and the world say goodbye to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for the last time and perpetuate her memory and legacy.”

Sending a message to the royal family, he added: “All my thoughts are with the royal family on this historic and emotional day.”

This obituary caused a lot of controversy and criticism of Mohamed Salah, who angered most of the fans of his country and his Liverpool team.

Some tweets reminded him of the tripartite aggression against Egypt, and it is known that Egypt remained under British occupation until June 18, 1956, after the July 23 revolution succeeded in overthrowing King Farouk and changing the regime in Egypt and liberating it from Britain.

The responses to Salah have been so harsh that some Liverpool fans have said he is not part of the UK.

According to reports, there is a historical feud between the late Queen of Britain and Liverpool fans which indicated that there is a belief among the people of the city of Liverpool that the city’s royal family is marginalizing it.
