African cyclist dies in US race

Kenyan cyclist Suleiman Kanjanji has died during a competition in Vermont, USA, according to the Guardian newspaper.

The 33-year-old was cycling at high speed in a Vermont Overland dirt road race when he was involved in a fatal crash.

The wife of the President of Kenya, Rachel Ruto, expressed her shock upon receiving the news of Kanganga’s death and offered her condolences on her Twitter account, saying, “We will miss him as a person. Kenya has lost a hero. Rest in peace”. , Solly.

Kanjanji was a member of the Amani team, made up of riders from Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda.

Kanjanji finished third at the 2017 Tour of Rwanda and later had success in several races.

He has also been active in promoting cycling in Kenya and has been a guest at school events in the Kenyan capital Nairobi.
