AFP: South Korean authorities warn to evacuate island after North Korea fires unidentified missile

South Korea on national television on Wednesday issued a warning to evacuate residents of Ulleungdo Island, off the east coast, after North Korea launched what the military described as an “unidentified ballistic missile.”

The aircraft headed towards the island and then landed in the open sea, according to the Yonhap news agency, citing missile defense officials.

The North Korean news agency Yonhap, citing the South Korean military, said that Pyongyang fired a missile towards the Sea of ​​Japan.

And the South Korean General Staff announced that the missile launch was discovered by North Korea, without immediately disclosing any details.
