Advisor to the President of Ukraine: The beginning of negotiations with Russia will mean that Russia has won

Mikhail Podolak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, stressed that Kyiv has no incentive to resume negotiations with Moscow, since “this will mean” victory “for Russia.”

“(Holding) today’s talks with Russia will only mean one thing – Russia’s victory,” Podolak said in a press statement.

The official pointed out that Kyiv maintains a dialogue with Moscow only at the level of resolving the issue of the exchange of prisoners and the bodies of the dead, stressing that “there are no dialogues in military-political affairs.”

Earlier, Alexander Darchev, director of the North American Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that the United States should convince Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to return to the negotiating table with Moscow.

He considered that such a solution would be the best option, and called it the only way the US could avoid a humiliating defeat, as happened recently in Afghanistan.
