Ambassador of the Lugansk People’s Republic to Russia Rodion Miroshnik confirmed that about 70 Ukrainian soldiers who were on the territory of the Azot plant in Severodonetsk laid down their arms and surrendered.

Miroshnik said: “There, during the armed clashes, a large number of militants were killed. Some tried to cross the Seversky Donets River, some managed to escape. recognized by the local population. Others tried to disperse and attract civilians.”

“It is possible that units of the Ukrainian army will be able to leave the plant under the guise of civilians,” he said.

The press secretary of the Russian Ministry of Defense, General Igor Konashenkov, confirmed the failure of the enemy’s attempt to turn the Azot industrial zone in Severodonetsk into a hotbed of hostilities and said: “As a result, our forces managed to completely take this area under control. ”
