Abdollahyan and Cavusoglu discussed Erdogan’s upcoming visit to Tehran

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahyan and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu discussed political and consular relations between the two countries and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Tehran by phone.

In a conversation held on Saturday, the ministers of the two countries expressed mutual satisfaction with the forthcoming visit of the Turkish President to Iran and discussed some bilateral issues of mutual interest, Iranian news agency IRNA reported.

During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on some issues related to political and consular relations between the two countries, as well as an official visit of the President of Turkey to Tehran.

Erdogan will arrive in Tehran on Monday evening at the official invitation of his Iranian counterpart, Ibrahim Raisi, who will lead a delegation of high-ranking political and economic officials.

Earlier, the Kremlin said that Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Tehran next Tuesday, where he will hold talks with his Iranian and Turkish counterparts as part of a new summit of the three guarantor countries of the Astana process on Syria.
