A call to buy German weapons from Qatar and put them in Ukraine

Member of the German Parliament Rudrich Kiziewter called for a “buyback” of 15 German Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns from the State of Qatar.

The German parliamentarian pointed out the need to transfer these guns to Ukraine.

The German politician added in an interview with the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper: “I think that Qatar does not currently need these guns. They are in working condition, so I think it would be very good to buy them back.”

Roderich Kiziuter emphasized the need to “do everything that can contribute to the victory of Ukraine.”

It is noteworthy that since the beginning of the Russian special operation, Germany has provided the Ukrainian army with 30 Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns.

These guns were designed and built in the 1960s and entered service in the 1970s, upgraded several times with the latest electronics. This gun was the backbone of the air defense of the German army and a number of other NATO countries. In Germany, Gepad was discontinued in the late 2010s.
