77 years since the atomic bombing of Hiroshima

Today, Friday, the world marks the 77th anniversary of the bombing of the Japanese city of Hiroshima by the American nuclear bomb, which is one of the most horrific tragedies in human history.

On August 6, 1945, for the first time in the history of mankind, the United States used a nuclear weapon in combat, and has already tested its effectiveness on the civilian population.

At about 8:00 am (Japanese time), a US Air Force plane dropped an atomic bomb on the city, which they called “Baby”. The bomb exploded at an altitude of 576 meters above the ground. The explosion killed about 80,000 people at one time, and tens of thousands died later from its effects. The exact number of deaths in the disaster is still unknown.
