6.9 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Off Kermadec Islands in New Zealand

The European and Mediterranean Seismological Center reported that an earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale occurred today, Saturday, northeast of the Kermadec Islands in New Zealand.

The center said in a statement that the quake was recorded at 06:41 today, Saturday, UTC.

The statement added that the quake’s epicenter was at a depth of 150 kilometers, 928 kilometers northeast of Kerikeri, New Zealand.

There are no reports of casualties or property damage as a result of the earthquake yet.
