According to a report published by the Arab Monetary Fund called the Single Arab Economic Report, Arab countries are completely dependent on oil and natural gas to meet their energy needs.
The report states that global natural gas reserves decreased by 9.0 percent at the end of 2021, to 4.205 trillion cubic meters.
As for natural gas reserves in the Arab countries for 2021, they have stabilized at the level reached at the end of 2020, which is 2.55 trillion cubic meters.
Gas reserves are concentrated in three Arab countries: Qatar, which accounts for 43.1% of the total reserves of the Arab countries, followed by Saudi Arabia with 15.3% and the UAE with 14%, the Arab countries together account for 26.9% of the world stocks. as shown in the table, which includes data for 2021.
