"2v1 not fair competition"Herman Kerber announces absence from US Championships

“2 against 1 is not a fair competition,” German Angelique Kerber announced on Wednesday the news of her pregnancy and absence from the US Open tennis championship, which will be held later this month.

“I really wanted to go to the US Open, but in the end I decided that 2v1 is not a fair competition,” the 2016 US Open champion wrote on her Twitter account, adding a bottle emoji.

“In the coming months, I will be taking a break from traveling the world as a tennis player, but I think it’s for the best reason,” she said, referring to the fact that she is pregnant at the moment, and this is unfair to her and her fruit is to play against her opponent, i.e. 2v1.

The world number 52 added: “New York has always been a turning point in my career and it looks like this year will be no different! in the world.”

The German, who has won 14 titles in her career, ended her tweet by saying: “I was hoping to say goodbye to all of you on the pitch before I am out of competition for a while. Being a professional athlete means everything to me, but I’m grateful for the new path I’m on. To be honest, I’m nervous and excited at the same time.”

Kerber, 34, has had a difficult year after losing in many tournaments and competitions, from first roles to the climax of the Strasbourg clay court tournament last May, after she took part in a wildcard.

Kerber’s failures this year were also at major tournaments, as she was eliminated from the first round in Australia, which she won in 2016, and from the third round at Roland Garros, and the same number at Wimbledon, where she won her title in 2018- m.
