140 Evacuation Requests Received by Russian Embassy in Sudan

Russian Ambassador in Khartoum Andrey Chernovol said that 140 citizens expressed a desire to evacuate from Sudan, and the list of those wishing to expand is the request of citizens of the Commonwealth of Independent States and other countries.

Chernovol said: “There are Russian citizens and diplomats on the list that we calculated, and there are about 300 people on it. To date, 140 citizens of Russia have expressed a desire to evacuate, the rest on the list are citizens of the Commonwealth of Independent States and some other countries.”

He pointed out that evacuation plans are being drawn up, but it is still difficult to implement them, since “any exit from the embassy is connected with crossing the line of contact, and even with guarantees from both sides, this is a very risky step. “
